What I've Done

PROFESSIONAL LIFE
  • Managed and Operated an act - "The Block Boys" and worked with an associated startup label, Block Boys Entertainment.
  • Owned and Operated Microcosm, Ent.

MUSIC
Instruments
  • Guitar (10 years): Lessons in jazz, flamenco, and classical style, self taught in metal, rock, ska, and experimental styles. Self taught on repairs, maintenance, and building.
  • Bass (8 years): Self taught in jazz, funk, rock, and ska.
  • Piano (18+ years): Lessons in classical and jazz.
  • Violin (1 year): Lessons in country and fiddling.
  • Theremin (1 year): Self taught.
  • Attended the international Stanford Jazz Camp in 2008 to play in a small group of musicians known as a “combo” with a performance at the end of one week for an audience.
  • Played in a band called “The Great Kerfuffle” as a Senior in high school and during the summer of 2009.

PERFORMING ARTS
Drama
Performed in the following plays at Saint Francis High School:
  • “The Crucible” (08) – John Willard, played a court martial in the production of the classic Arthur Miller piece.
  • “Harvey” (09) – Duane Wilson, performed as a comical asylum orderly in the production of the comedy.

Musicals
Performed in the following musicals at Saint Francis High School:
  • “Grease” (07) – Ensemble/Chorus, played as a featured dancer and chorus member in the rocking version of the classic musical.
  • “Cabaret” (08) – Ensemble/Nazi, performed as a strict Nazi and featured male dancer in the saucy version of a heartfelt musical.
  • “The Sound of Music” (09) – Franz, performed as a lead actor in the role of the butler in the classic play.
  • “Thoroughly Modern Millie” (10) – Chorus/Dexter, performed as an overwrought husband and an energetic chorus member in the delightfully whimsical musical.

Vocal
  • Bass in the selective audition Saint Francis Chamber Choir. (10, 11, 12) In all choral festivals and competitions attended, acquired the title of “Superior.”

Who I Am

EMPLOYMENT
  • Assistant chef – Worked as an assistant chef in the Summer of 2009 for the restaurant "Vero" in Palo Alto where I was responsible for all appetizers and desserts. (09)  [Vero]
  • Lab assistant/Intern – Worked as an intern, filing bills, changing the HR department's files into digital form,         helping in the lab to assist technicians. (10)  [Hunter Laboratories]
  • IT assistant/Intern – Worked as an intern/IT assistant fixing computers and equipment when problems arose, managing filing and billing systems as well as getting the files ready for storage. (11)  [Infogain]

INTERESTS
  • Audio Recording: I do have a small studio in my apartment that facilitates a laid-back approach to recording and mixing outside work. I also have access to the studios and recording spaces of Cogswell College, as well as their equipment.
  • Photography: I have a Canon 6D and I love to take photos of people, places, and odd things. Mostly pictures of my cat and things I purchase.
  • Graphic Design: I make my own logos and graphics for websites and albums and such.
  • Audio Production: I write and produce music, and create effects and samples myself.
  • Audio Mixing: I mix and master my own tracks, and I am happy to say I get better with each project I take on!
  • Physics: I research various topics on varying degrees of physics including particle physics, motion, wave, and nuclear physics in my spare time.
  • Writing and Literature: I write horror stories and screenplays.
